Нельзя называть страну, из которой ты приехал. Надо говорить "Моя страна".
Также, если приехал не ты, а кто-то другой, это называется "Другая страна".
То же самое с языком - "Мой язык" и "Другой язык".
А когда по незнанию называешь свою страну или язык так, как они называются, окружающие вздрагивают.

No, actually politcorrectnes has been mostly declining since my arrival. But even at the high tide of PC it was never a problem to name your motherland. Probably you just met an anti-Semite. Welcome to the new experience :-)

I didn't learn to identify anti-semits yet. But I already met several people that didn't want me to know where they are from, and succeeded in it. Part of them simply bad in geography, they are sure I came "from Europe".
I can not imagine the level of PC upon your arrival if the one I'm facing is called "declane"...
